The use of high-quality, highly reactive lime in sintering can significantly improve the quality of sinter, laying a solid foundation for blast furnace production of low-silicon, low-sulfur pig iron, as well as stable, high-yield, and coke-saving operations. In steelmaking, the use of high-quality, highly reactive lime can substantially reduce lime consumption per ton of steel, decrease slag volume and iron loss, accelerate slag formation and the removal of sulfur and phosphorus, improve first-pass success rate and molten steel quality, shorten blowing time, and significantly reduce steelmaking costs, resulting in more pronounced economic benefits. A good indicator is a reduction of lime consumption by more than 15 kg per ton of steel, with a maximum reduction of up to 40 kg.
